About Madola Village & Culture
Madola village is the home of a talented female traditional healer. Madola is a single family village unique and of great respect in Waluguru society. The family grows cassava, sugar cane, mangoes, corn and beans and the eldest son also does wood carving to increase income generation.
The Tour
The Chilunga Cultural Tourism programme can take you to meet the revered traditional healer and her family. Hike to their village up the Uluguru mountains and experience beautiful scenery and views along the way.
Transport: Walking – step/steep terrain.
Duration: 5-6 hours return trip, excluding stopping and any activities. Overnight camping can be arranged.
